Development

Increasing complexity

Every large localization and translation project has its own special aspects and creates new challenges. The number of different systems that are subject to localization activities is increasing every day: content that requires translation is produced by more and more complex software environments such as content-management systems, PIM systems and ERP systems.

Resources and workflows

Each system also calls for a different approach to handling its resources: as well as employing standard file formats, more and more proprietary file formats are now being used. Parallel to this, the number of processes involved has increased and workflows in localization and translation projects have become increasingly complex as well.

Customizing, interfaces, automation

What this means is that interfaces for exchanging translatable data, customizations and automation are all gaining importance. In many cases, the development of customizations and automation in tools can be the best way of optimizing existing workflows. In other cases, it may even be necessary to develop a brand new tool.
